Follow us to Thames Street Landing waterfront in downtown Bristol, Rhode Island and dine at the historical DeWolf Tavern! If you have dined at the DeWolf Tavern before, share your experience and favorite meal with us on our EdgeWater Boats Facebook page.
At the DeWolf Tavern you and your dining party will enjoy breathtaking views of the Rhode Island waterfront and a delicious meal from Chef Sai Viswanath. Chef Sai combines cooking techniques and flavors from around the world into his tavern dishes. Prior to becoming a chef at the tavern he was a culinary arts instructor at the New England Culinary Institute. He is known for using only the freshest local ingredients! Local favorites include roasted lobster, fried green tomato salad, and baked stuffed lobster.
The tavern is located in a renovated warehouse from 1818 that was built by James and William DeWolf. The DeWolf’s were local merchants and owners of the “Triangle Trade,” a shipping business. Ships would dock and unload their goods at a boat slip located just below the warehouse. The brothers also owned and operated a rum distillery which is now located in the lobby of the Bristol Harbor Inn.
There are four unique dining areas inside of the tavern: the patio, the Tavern room, the Upstairs, and the waterfront deck. The Upstairs is great for enjoying a fine bottle of wine and a meal specially prepared by Chef Sai. If you’re visiting during the summer months we recommend enjoying a cocktail on the waterfront deck before heading inside to dine.
