Dining at the Reef

Dining at the ReefWe’re touring the Boston Harbor this week in our Waterfront Dining series! Join us for a great meal at The Reef, the famous restaurant at the New England Aquarium. If you have dined at The Reef before, tell us about your experience in our comments section or on our EdgeWater Boats Facebook page!

The Reef has gorgeous seasonal waterfront dining on the patio for the New England Aquarium. Restaurant patrons can enjoy breathtaking views of the city and harbor! If you’re visiting the area, plan a visit to the New England Aquarium to build up a healthy appetite for The Reef. The aquarium has several different species of marine life including green sea turtles, African penguins, giant pacific octopuses, Atlantic harbor seals, and blacknose shark. Our favorite exhibit was the Giant Ocean Tank featuring more than 2,000 animals and a gorgeous coral reef.

The current menu was created under the direction of world-class chef Barbara Lynch! She created a great menu consisting of New England essentials such as lobster rolls, oysters and clam chowder.

A few of our favorite menu items were the lobster roll sliders, Margherita flatbread and steamer bar which included clams, shrimp and mussels.

The restaurant is open from 11:30 in the morning until 9:00 at night, and has live entertainment several nights during the week beginning at 5:00. It’s an open-air dining experience that you and your family will not want to miss out on!
