Below are some key points to remember.

Bahamas Customs and Immigration

We will be sending you all Bahamas Customs paperwork you will need to clear customs about 10 days prior to departure. Forms will also be available at our Captains Meeting, July 30th at 6:00 p.m. at our Fort Lauderdale store.

 

*All fees related to clearing the Bahamas Customs and Immigration must be paid in cash.

 

*Only the captain of the vessel is permitted to exit the boat for clearing Bahamas Customs and Immigrations.

*An immigration card must be completed for each crew member (immigration cards are available at the captain’s meeting or at the Bahamas Customs office). U.S. Passports ONLY are now permitted.  NO DRIVER LICENSE.

*Pets are NOT permitted to enter the Bahamas without the proper documentation which can take some time for you to accomplish.

U.S. Customs and Boarder Patrol (CBP)

 

*Boats over 30 feet must possess a U.S. Customs decal, which you can purchase for $25 annually at: www.cbp.gov or by calling (317) 298-1245.

*To expedite clearing the U.S. Customs and Boarder Patrol, complete the online Small Vessel Reporting system application (SVRS),https://svrs.cbp.dhs.gov/.  In addition, an in-person appointment is required for each on of your crew. Once you have completed the interview with the CBP, you will receive a Local Boater Option card. Each member of your crew is required to have this card in order to avoid having to make a trip to U.S. Customs and Boarder Patrol office

*If you complete the online Small Vessel Reporting System application, you must fill out your float plan online athttps://svrs.cbp.dhs.gov/Default.aspx.

*Back in the U.S., before anyone gets off the boat, the captain must call the Small Boat Reporting Hotline at 1-800-432-1216 to report arrival. You will receive an arrival number that must be given to the CBP by the on line Float Plan submitted prior to US arrival.

*Or, a second option is to drive to your local Customs and Boarder Patrol location and clear immigration with the CBP in place of pre-registering online.
